Raising kids in the age of smartphones is uncharted territory.
Tech Without Stress is a hub for tech parenting: information and practical guidance for families.
Emily and Dr. Jacqueline Nesi and knew each other as fellow researchers for years before they became moms. Now, they have four kids between them and it’s sparked a very real — and humbling! — sense of connection to all the questions parents ask about kids and tech. They created Tech Without Stress to share information with families, rooted in research, as well as practical strategies for managing all the big topics and decisions related to tech parenting.
An online course for every parent raising a tween or teen in today’s tech-filled world.
Tech Parenting 101 is an online, asynchronous, video-based course. Anyone can take it, anytime. The course covers what to know (and what to consider saying and doing) about topics like cyberbullying, screen time, AI, gaming, online porn, and more.
Tech Without Stress also has a new Instagram account (@techwithoutstress) and Emily and Jackie are experimenting with answering common questions on their YouTube channel.
So many important questions.
How do families set and keep healthy tech boundaries? How do you know if a kid is ready for a phone? How can you get through digital drama, “the porn talk,” and gaming decisions?
Should you sign that smartphone pledge that’s going around?
Check out the video at left for Emily and Jackie’s answer to the last question, and the course for answers to the others.
